How much water should you drink if you are starting a new fitness regime with the hope of working up to weights and light bodybuilding?

The official guidelines are 1.6 L a day for women and 2 L a day for men. Surely this will differ the more exercise you do?

I would say the vast majority of us do not drink enough water during the day and many of us overindulge in soft drinks. I always thought that sugar free/diet soft drinks were ok but I have read some very interesting articles suggesting otherwise.

I think everyone should drink at-least 5 to 6 L a day . To help our body excrete all the unwanted material from our body. So by we also decrease weight in return.

I keep reading that hydration is vital but there seem to be so many different views out there - what is the right amount?

The biggest factor thag most people dont take into account is the persons bodyweight. If a 70 kg person and a 120 kg person did the same exercise and the lighter person trained in cold climate and the heaviest in warm do both people need the same amount of water? No. Water is an individual persons lifestyle. No one can tell you how much you need. Only you can.
I would recommend that every hour drink a good few mouthfuls of water and if its warm drink more.

If you feel thirst your already dehydrated so it means you need to drink more. Everyone is different but if you know that you are not drinking enough just slowly increase how much you drink.

Remember drinking too much can be very dangerous also so dont drink how ever many kgs of water just because someone says they do it.

No 2 people are the same.
      Good luck.
