If you decide to go with a gainer, make your own. Much better than pre made.
whey, whole milk, pb, nutella, fruit, oats, etc, etc, etc

Your sleep affects your diet in more ways than you know, as well as your attitude and brain and growth cycle -- it's really at the center of your whole health if you think about it. Try to get on solid sleep schedule. When your eating too, eat less but more times a day. Maybe you could try 5-7 small meals and that would carry your energy a lot more and help you maintain weight gain.

Hey, since I am also having hard time to maintain or gain weight, I've to say that I never thought sleep would affect so much my diet and my physical well-being. Could you please cite some sources from professional people that me and OP could read?

I think you need to see what you eat and also unhealthy food like takeaways are not a good way of gaining weight as you may gain more then you need to and would have to work hard to get rid of the excess weight which you don't need in the body, so try and see what other foods may appeal to you which are more healthy. It is important to have breakfast as this can be a thing we can tend to hold off which can mean the next meal we eat may be bigger then we need and affect the body as with no food in the morning, it will be hard to concentrate or do something as sugar and salt is needed which fuels the body and abosorps the nutrients. I usually try and have toast in the morning with ceral and a medium lunch and a small dinner it can take time for the body to gain weight if you want to have a more muscualr body and does take time and effort and should take small steps towards that goal.

I suggest you eat glucose before every meal. This will go to supply your energy requirements so that whatever carbs you eat will be stored. To make sure you don't develop more fat than muscle, design a program of strength training starting with smaller weights incrementally. Increase your protein intake to develop new muscle cells.

Just from reading this I can only make a simple conclusion that if you are loosing weight or you are maintaining weight you either have a calorie deficit or you just happen to on the same ration of intake and burning of the calories. I guess some people burn a lot more calories than the others. You need even more calories but please try to avoid snacks because you want to get weight not diabetes or high cholesterol. You are young so you just need more calories, a lot more actually. Try eating walnuts instead of snacks. They are very nutritious and high in calories.

You probably have a fast metabolism that would counteract your increased food consumption. Try taking quick rests while eating, and adding a few more calories to your meals. Maybe even consider getting a doctor's opinion on the matter, if things really don't go your way and you can't gain any weight, as it may indicate a health problem that is hiding behind your inability to gain weight. Good luck!

An inability to maintain/gain weight is a problem that many have when they begin their training regime. How do you tackle this issue? What works best for you?
