I thought that this was just a joke from there's something about Mary (7..minute...abs!) But I went over to my mums a few weeks ago and LO and behold, 6 second abs! Yes 6 second! WTH? What do you guys think about this and these instant abs ideas?
It's nonsense. All you can do in that time is pump blood into your abdominal muscles to make them appear bigger and more defined if your body fat percentage is low enough.
I also think that this idea is just ridiculous in general. It makes me think just how much did this particular person abused steroids or something that they could have injected into themselves. I am just too skeptical when it comes to things like this.
Take any "X minute/second anything" type diet fads and throw them away, they never work. It's a great way to weed through bad workout routines.
Indeed. These workouts are designed by opportunists because they know people are lazy and they want the easiest way to a sick body. The basics of weight training are still the best way to build your body and burn fat. Give me something tried and tested over decades over any modern fad.
Whenever you see something when it comes to working out or dieting and it seems to be good to be true -- it usually is. The only way to get a good core section is to do a routine of core exercises. One of the good things though is that it's very easy to do in that you don't really need to go to the gym to workout your midsection. All you need is somewhere to lie down. Conventional crunches and situps work, but I'm more fond of doing exercises like planks, side planks and others that target specific areas.
This. To achieve anything it requires time and perseverance, no matter what fad diets/workout routines say. Best way to get a defined pair of abs is cut fats, do cardio like it's going out of style and do those crunches. Generally if you can do 100 crunches in a sitting, do 50 regular and 50 reverse. Reverse crunches do wonders for your lower abs, while regular crunches barely do anything for your lowers.
The title is just misleading. People expect to get abs very quickly. I'm sure these workouts can get you abs but not in a day. They just are workouts you can do everyday and won't take a lot of time, if you're too busy.
