One of my major concerns regarding supplements is the headlines you see which suggest that the vast majority are not good for your body. However, I have done my own research on this and there are many different types of supplement which effectively top up the body’s natural supplements. Is there any drawback to using supplements as part of your training plan?
I have always been very wary of taking supplements but I think many of us get supplements mixed up with steroids and other substances. In theory a supplement is simply an extension of natural vitamins and proteins which are common in everyday life. Is this correct?
I guess the definition of supplements is anything that you can supplement your diet with to boost performance. I would say stick with protein and protein only.
I will not blame the supplements. But the most important things is to decide precisely and take the best one.
Thanks for the feedback - so the advice is be careful and focus the supplements on what you are trying to do, e.g. weight loss, building muscle, etc. Next question, where do I but these supplements?
Dietary supplements could be really useful if they are made of natural ingredients. It is impossible to follow a diet that would contain all vitamins and components we need.
As we are all very different I presume it makes sense to put together a plan specific for each of us?
