My goals for next year are primarily to lose weight by increasing muscle tone of all my major muscle groups and possibly as a side effect, gain muscle mass. This should raise my metabolic rate and thus make it easier for me to lose the excess fat I have. Doing regular cardio might help too. If I do it enough I might get a condition known as Athlete's Heart where the ventricles hypertrophy, stroke volume increases, and heart rate decreases.

I want to get myself toned up and back in shape before I hit 50 as I am finding it harder and harder to win the battle of the bulge.

My goal it to get somewhere near the weight I was 10 years ago when I felt comfortable with my weight. How is it that weight just seems to creep up on you as you get older :(

Keep your goals for the New Year coming in and tell your friends about realmuscleforum. Remember getting fit and in shape does not mean you have to use a gym you just need some knowledge how to go about it!
Good luck to all who enter and keep coming back here for updates!
      Tom
