Hey so I was wondering. Anyone else who does the boring but big thing, where Hypertrophy is also a goal. Do you go to failure on the last set in the 5/3/1 scheme? I read somewhere you should only do the minimum required. Hypertrophy is a goal of mine, but I also want a program that will make me strong.
5/3/1 boring but big question You should buy the ebook and read it. The AMRAP sets should stop short of failure most of the time.
5/3/1 boring but big question I don't have a way to buy it. My question was if when doing big but boring I can over the minimum reps? Assuming I choose the right weight (i.e not too light or heavy) .
5/3/1 boring but big question Minimum reps on the 5x10x50% sets or the 5/3/1 sets? I'm not sure what you're asking.
5/3/1 boring but big question Can you just tell if you know the answer? I'm 16 years old with no credit card, nor there is a store book that sells it in my area, I tried looking for it without having to pay via credit card. Why is it so hard to get a legitimate answer on this site, without getting bashed on small stuff.
5/3/1 boring but big question Minimum reps on 5/3/1. I read somewhere that if you do boring but big you must stop at the minimum reps.
5/3/1 boring but big question No, he recommends you do that if you're doing the 3 month challenge. If this is your first time doing 5/3/1, just do the regular BBB template with 5x10x50% and take the final sets of your 5/3/1 lifts 1-2 reps short of failure.
5/3/1 boring but big question Oh I see. In this case I should always keep 5X10 50% no matter what month/cycle I am, right?
5/3/1 boring but big question Yes...that's the whole point of BBB the 50% sets. If you do the 3 month challenge you start at 50%, the next cycle is 60% and the 3rd cycle is 70%.
