      Anyone reprented themselves in court?

      you might know what you've got to say mate but its dealing with the unexpected that no doubt pops up that might catch you cold footed-leave it in the hands of those who studied law and know the wee get out clauses.

      LOL I went to law school in Australia... same thing in lectures....

      But to answer the OP, I've paid other lawyers to represent me when required.... they are more objective in their view or they had more expert knowledge in the specific area of law.

      Even a law student will know court procedures better than you, even if its the right way/time to ask for an adjournment until your regular lawyer is able to represent you...

      My advice: let the associate handle it.

      Some judges can be terribly elitist and condescending, unless you dress, act and speak like someone who's upper-middle class and higher, he could just make up his mind after your first sentence and disregard anything you have to say.
