      Bench plateau after only ~5 weeks of lifting.

      Goal is hypertrophy mainly. Thanks i'll keep that in mind maybe that's why i keep failing in the second and third sets.

      I'm in a similar situation.

      What I do: Start with 3x5 reps, work way up to 5x12 reps, by that time the next level of weight at 3x5 should be manageable.

      If you wanting to get the weight up on the bar,Try getting your self onto a 5x5 routine..best advice I can give

      You've been stuck at a 100lbs for 1 week? Congratulations.

      Considering you're 124lbs and 100lbs is 80% of your bodyweight you'll find it's going to be a lot harder to increase weight on your press, especially since you're using DB, which means every increase is by 10lbs, as opposed to barbell bench press where you can go up by 5lbs. Many people get stuck on certain weights for weeks at a time, give it 2-3 weeks before you complain. And try out BB bench press, you should be able to do more weight, and it might help your plateau, but it will have less ROM than DB.

      Do you train to failure each set? If you do I'd start stopping a rep short it will make it easy to progress
