Does anyone use different TDEE values for Working out and Rest days?

I have a problem with online TDEE calculators becuase my TDEE varies greatly between a workout day and non workout day. I recently got a bodybugg and am shocked at the discrepancy between the two. Workout days I burn above 3000 cals and on non-workout days it might be 2000 or low 2000s. So I dont think its realistic to use online calculators and lump these days together to get an average when clearly therie is a major difference. More importantly, the activity multipliers are way to vauge - espcially in light of now seeing what the bodybugg reports.

It seems to make much more sense, if you can, to determine your avg rest day TDEE and your average workout TDEE and then eat according to your goals. Anyone do this?

This would line up well for anyone who is recomping or cycling calories for workout and non0-workout days.

If thats the case id recommend you take an average and go with that daily. And i know what you mean, if im in college ill walk 10 miles + during the day and be on my feet a lot while im there, go home, eat change and lift. However if im off ill probably wake up late, eat my breakfast in bed, play some xbox, lift, then go get high... i just keep my cals consistent

See i dont want to keep cals consistent becuase clearly they are not. So I want to take advantage of workout days and eat to build lean muscle and on off days I want to possibly shed some fat. I am using Intermittent fasting which promotes these strategies whether or not they actually work, who knows, but i've done a lot of research and this seems to be the best strategy ive seen

You could always calculate it for a rest day, where you'd presumably have no or little activity, and then do a different calculation based on workout intensity and time, and base an off day's calories on the first, and workout day calories on the 2nd.

I also dont want to use an avg becuase I am gonna try Intermittent fasting where on workout days I will be eating a small surplus and on non-workout days, I will be eating a small deficit. So using an average TDEE kind of dilutes the numbers and blurries the focus.

Your not gonna be able to build muscle on workout days and lose fat on rests days by changing your calorie intake depending on the days. You can't lose/gain in 1 day, look at it over a weekly perspective.

Example: if you had a maintenance of 2500, you'd need a total of 17500 cals weekly to keep the same weight. If your in a 200 cal surplus for 5 workout days (+1000 cals weekly total) but on (2) rest days your on a 500 cal defecit (total -1000 calories weekly), you would be essentially eating the same amount of calories as if you were eating at 2500 everyday.

Since you have a bodybugg, work off weekly averages and split cals over 7 days

Not in the sarcastic sense that you mean, *sigh*

I do believe our body doesnt operate off of weeks or months, as we know them, ibut rather as a systematic process and Im sure there are, periods, etc over the course of months, weeks, even days & hours where the body will better utlize nutirents, etc given its current state.
