      Hi peeps.
Ive been reading a lot recently about body building diets and come to the point many might have once stumbled upon...do we really need this much protein?
It started when I heard someone question what was actually in our shakes, and then I went on to read that getting 300-400 grams of protein per day from real food was near impossible, and most of it would end up in the toilet anyway.

Most recently I've been reading mike mentzer theories and supported doctors articles who all seem to suggest that muscle is made up of aroun 15-25% protein. So someone my size, (98-100kg) should only really need just shy of 200g of protein per day rather than 400 that I have been lead to believe.

Im just interested if Abyone has taken this different approach to lifting with good results.

My opinion is that every person is different and different things work for different people. And on top of that, DNA and genetics contribute. So on my lifelong journey to fid what works for me, I am willing to try a few new methods

The general consensus is 1.5 grams per lb of bodyweight. I don't believe you need as much as som people are claiming to be honest as long as you get everything right, like amino's, which are the building blocks of protein, then everything should be fine.
