Which do prefer do and why? I recently switched over to dumbbell and feel it way more in my delts and I'm seeing better strength gains.
Dumbbell Shoulder Press vs. Barbell Shoulder Press It's not even a matter of preference. Dumbbell shoulder press > Barbell shoulder press (if your goal is hypertrophy) Barbell shoulder press has a restricted range of motion, puts less tension on the front delts, and puts more strain on your rotator cuffs.
Dumbbell Shoulder Press vs. Barbell Shoulder Press picked barbell cuz of personal preference but the answer is BOTH
Dumbbell Shoulder Press vs. Barbell Shoulder Press If anything a barbell press puts MORE tension on the front delts and less on the side delts. It is still personal preference and incorrect to say that it isn't. I personally exert too much energy setting up to dumbbell press, so I can get a lot more stimulation out of a barbell press supersetted with a lateral raise / upright row.
Dumbbell Shoulder Press vs. Barbell Shoulder Press Also, people say that dumbbell movements have a greater range of motion, and then never actually use the full ROM.
Dumbbell Shoulder Press vs. Barbell Shoulder Press Both of them are extremely efficient and both of them has there cons as well. Military Press allows you to use more weight, but restricts your range of motion. Dumbells allow you to use less weight, but allows more range of motion, etc. IN my opinion, use both of them in your arsnel. Use 1 for about 3-6months, and then switch and use the other one. Overall progressive overload+ a proper diet will result in your shoulders growing.
