When you bear in mind that the body is 60% water (?) it makes sense that water is vital when it comes to rehydration and optimising the performance of your body.

Sometimes going back to basics helps - I drink a lot of coffee through the day, does this dehydrate you?

Hi there, thanks for sharing, water helps to remove toxins from body and make your skin glow.

Keeping hydrated is a very important part of exercising - many people measure the success of their exercise regime by the amount they sweat. Wrong :)

I think I will be cutting down on the coffee from now on - more water. What about fizzy drinks? I presume these are not good for your body as well - especially if you are looking to improve your overall health?

I must be honest I find this infographic very intriguing; I had no idea that water did so many things in the body. Now the big question, how many pints/litres of water should you drink per day?

To demonstrate how important water is to the body, it is believed that the human body can go without food for 21 days but a maximum of one week without water. That just about sums everything up!

I saw an article recently which showed how water can not only be taken to replace high calorie sugary drinks but if you drink cold water your body actually needs to use up more energy (i.e. calories) to bring the water back up to your core body temp. Amazing facts!
