      Howdy!

I'm a lady in my mid 20's who's been training for three years now. I enjoy anything that keeps me active - hiking, running, anything done outdoors pretty much. I do a little crossfit, and lots of strength training. My favorites definitely would be squats and deadlifts. I signed up to learn more and share experiences from people like you who live the same lifestyle that I do.

So yeah, that is all for now. thanks for reading and hope to speak with ya all soon!

      Hi Trapchic

Welcome to the forum. I would be interested to learn about your training program to date as 3 years is a quite a long time. How do you motivate yourself? What are your targets?

      Hello, Newstarter!

I've been on hiatus for a little while, due to some personal reasons. But I've been making my way back to the habit. I've stated pretty much everything that I do in my intro.

Being on hiatus caused me to gain a little weight, so right now my goal is to drop the numbers down, then pick it up where I left off.

How about you? How long have you been training?

      Hi Trapchic

I am just starting out on my journey - seeing the best way forward. I want to tone up and get fitter as in my mid-40s it is getting harder and harder to lose that extra few lbs lol

What kind of targets do you have in mind? I have been looking at fitness and diets as well as using weights to tone up. There is a lot to take in!

      Hey again!

Well I'm sure you'll get to your goals soon!

Right now I'm still trying to drop weight and fat, so I do lots of HIIT circuit training. Once I get to my goal weight, I'll start on building some muscle. I do lift weights still, too. It helps with burning fat especially on my arms. I find that area of my body really stubborn. How about you? What is your routine like?

Hello, admin! How's it going? I've been reaaaally busy lately I barely had time to workout (and visit this place lol). But I'm hanging! During off days I just watch my diet extra carefully .

      Hi Trapchic

I am still in the planning process - need to take the plunge asap as dreading the Xmas period and the extra calories on offer!

How did you first motivate yourself? What was it that got you moving in the end?

Ahhhh Christmas!!! Makes it harder for everyone! Haha

Well I've been really fat since I was a kid. When I turned 18, I took a turn got more self-conscious. People around me bullied me, called me names... I thought I was okay with them treating me like that until one day I realized that it wasn't right. And I had to do something about it. So that's where everything started!

That is so sad to hear - children do not understand the harm they can do to someone (not just physically but mentally) by bullying. I have always been fairly thinish until around 4 or 5 years ago when I hit 40. Since then I have been getting less and less exercise and I am now at the point where I am thinking, if I don't do something now it will start to impact my health at some stage.

What would you recommend for someone just starting out - any particular training exercises/regime?
