I started lifting at home last winter because of school and to save money. I have over 400 lbs of weights, but im limited to some exercises. For instance, i can't do leg press to get bigger quads. I do squats, front squats, lunges, etc on leg day; but i want to find a workout that will work my outer quads primarily to get them bigger. Any suggestions?
Outer quad exercise? are you eating in a caloric surplus in order to gain mass? are you getting bigger in other areas but NOT your outer quads?
Outer quad exercise? Yes my inner quads and top quads are getting bigger due to all the other exercises
Outer quad exercise? narrow stance.. get those feet about 10 inches apart and CONCENTRATE on using your outer quads.. my teardrops are so damn dominant that even if i do this and dont concentrate they'll take over
Outer quad exercise? I'll assume you at least have a power rack. Squats with feet close together will put a bit more emphasis on your outer quads, but this foot position can be difficult to balance when trying to use heavy enough weight to cause a response. If Back Squatting with close feet is a problem for you, try the same (close) foot position with Front Squats. At any rate, getting your feet close together under load will be the key.
Outer quad exercise? I think he's talking about squats mainly. This can also be applied to leg press and there are probably more but i can't think of any others at the moment. Just do narrow stance with feet basically pointed straight ahead.
Outer quad exercise? I technically don't have a "power rack" but im able to extend the supports to hold a barbell high enough for squats, push press, etc. But i don't have suicide bars to drop the bar if i can't finish a rep
