Do you listen to music when you do your workout? What kind of music do you listen to? I personally have not found the perfect genre yet as anything too slow puts me off working out and anything too fast makes me speed up which causes injuries. :)

I have worked out with some friends and they have loud speakers which play some very good music. They play hardcore rock and hip-hop.Rocking out with the vocals and epic guitar solos get me so hype! I also enjoy hip-hop with a fast, up tempo beat. Pretty much anything that gets me hype or active is what I enjoy.

I listen to a lot of 2pac when I'm at the gym or at home working out. It gets me motivated.

It depends on what mood am in at the time of the work out. If am not so sometimes I listen to indigenous music if am felling homely. My kid likes to join me sometime if am doing the workout in the evening and so she decides what music.

I think any energetic music is good. It should motivate you to do your training and feel great while doing it. Hip hop, techno, pop have their effects.

Great replies guys and gals. :)

See I have tried techno and rave music but I find that the faster the music is the faster I pump the weights, surely that will lead to injury?

As long as your safe and mindful of your weights I think you will be good. unless you are pumping so fast that you slam the weights into yourself. Stick to the medium speed music just to be on the safe side and maybe if you can control your speed then blast the techno. :)

I didn't listen to music when I first started training because I read an article about focusing on the muscle with Zen-like concentration. I became bored of training in silence and I started playing high-tempo dance music during my training. The uplifting music triggers endorphins and makes me feel more energetic, I love it.

I think I'll just turn on a radio station that plays the top 40, I don't think I'll go far wrong. :)

Depends what I'm doing, if I'm on the weights then something aggressive, like some rock or rap, gets me in the mood.

If I'm on the treadmill or doing cardio then it needs to be epic and involving, something I can get lost in. Nothing better than getting lost in some Pink Floyd and realising I'm twenty minutes in already...!
