      Hey, When starting a new fitness regime, it's generally recommended to drink about 8 glasses (64 ounces) of water per day.

      We all know that water is essential when you are exercising - but why?

      Drinking enough fluids will help to:-
      • maintain your concentration and performance
      • increase your endurance
      • prevent excessive elevations in heart rate and body temperature

      I would finish about 5 to 6 liters of water a day. I have heard that doing this would save me from having kidney stones.

      There is no correct numeric answer to your question. How much water you should drink depends on how much water your body needs, which is a function of your body size/weight/composition, what you are doing, where and how you are doing it, and how youir body is responding. Our bodies are mostly water, and most bodily processes (e.g. muscle protein synthesis) require water. Don't worry about a number, just drink as much water as feels comfortable from the time you get up to the time you go to bed. Personally, my Yeti tumbler full of filtered ice water is never far away.

      Yes, that's correct but again you must try to get 6 to 7 liters of water and also consult your dietician regarding the same.

      First you recommended 5-6 liters, now you say 6-7 liters. I say either recommendation could be right or wrong. This highlights the problem with focusing on numbers rather than listening to your body and using your own good common sense and educated judgment.
