Hey, I have 21 % b.f and wanting to get it down to 15%. I am wanting to diet, to reach my goal, but I am a vegetarian. I need help as to what I should be eating instead of chicken or fish. I need to be eating something with no carbs, but high in protein. I could have a protein shake, but I am already drinking twice of them a day. Any suggestions ? Help would be great. Thanks.

I am wanting to replace the chicken or fish, considering I don't eat either. Chicken and fish have no carbs, lol.

Why don't you simply compose a rational diet that meets your nutritional needs?

Tofu and other meet less options are good replacements.

Unless you're a newly minted vegetarian, you didn't eat chicken or fish to begin with. How were you getting your protein before, and why weren't the carbs a problem? Why can't you subtract enough carbs in your primary carb sources to make up for the carbs in your vegetarian protein sources?

The reason I ask is unless you allow dairy, you'll get quite tired of tofu when focusing on very low carb protein sources, because that's the only one I can think of off the top of my head.

To learn how many calories you should be consuming and how much protein and fat you need to meet sufficiency, see: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...hp?t=121703981

Then simply select foods that you enjoy eating and compose your diet from such foods in combinations and quantities that meet your nutritional targets.

Carbs were not a problem because I wasn't on a fat loss diet... For protein I eat, tofu, beans, lentils, chickpeas but they are filled with carbs. I was wanting no carbs. That is how you lose fat, is it not? Low carb, high protein diet?

CHO intake does not uniquely impact body fat. Caloric balance and micro/macronutrient sufficiency is what matters.

Please read the stickies to learn the basics about nutrition.
