As far as I understand, deloading is taking it easy and not goin balls to the walls in the gym. Is that right? Whats the point? I've never done such. I go hard in the paint every workout and if I feel like Im a little tired, I take 2 or 3 days off.

Same here. If I get tired I might take a couple days off, but otherwise I'm at it 6 days of the week.

Because squatting 350+ and pulling 400+ week after week is taxing on the human body. Deloading an resetting weight 15 pounds or so helps break plateaus.

Deloading is good for nursing minor injuries, and helps avoid them.

Everyone should deload every once in awhile, it's common sense.

      strong this

Squats pretty much destroyed me this past month, right now squatting hurts my left leg.

Gotta take a week off to heal

I do the occasional crash diet deload. it's mostly because I'm lazy and tired of eating though.

      http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/tra...eights-qa.html

In essence by back-cycling, you get back to a place where you can generate at least some strength gains without burning yourself out on maximum weights such that when you get back to your previous maximum level you can surpass it. The old Hardgainer groups called this ‘gaining momentum’ but basically that’s all this is; you get your fitness moving upwards by working above a certain threshold (but below maximum) and that lets you power through old plateaus.

Also it would definitely seem to help as a preventative for injuries.
